Jeff and I would have never thought a year ago that we would be engaged now. We were both incredibly single, watching all of our friends get married. We tried to patiently wait our turn. We both had a very persistent wonderful friend Tiffany who kept telling each of us she had the perfect person to set us up with. We were both hesitant at first but as Jeff would say after he saw my picture he was all in and I just decided I didn’t have anything to lose. Tiffany didn’t have a picture of Jeff so I had no idea what I was in for. Little did I know how lucky I was about to be.
Jeff soon called and asked if I would like to get together for coffee to meet, I agreed. It was December 15, 2007 when I was to meet Jeff at Starbucks on the Plaza. It seemed like a blizzard came in the day before, I couldn’t believe how much snow was on the ground. I didn’t know if I would make it safe from my south Overland Park home to the Plaza, but I just hoped for the best. Jeff called me an hour before I was supposed to be there wondering where I was. He accidentally got the time mixed up and so I rushed as fast as I could to get down there. I had just finished up a kid photo-shoot in the snow so I was so wet. I felt bad he waited for about 2hrs for me to get there. We had an amazing conversation and we hit it off right away. We talked for about 3 hours and I think we both knew our lives had changed forever. As Jeff and I walked out of Starbucks side by side we both looked at each other at the same time. I remember thinking this is only the beginning, we are going to have something very special together. Little did I know he thought the exact same thing at the same time.
After that the rest was history. I believe we spend almost every waking hour together during winter break. We knew right away we were forever indebted to our dear friend Tiffany! I am so happy to have her as my maid of honor!
